Spring 2017 Symphony Nova Fellowship Auditions

The deadline has passed for the 2017-2018 Fellowship
Boston, MA

Auditions will take place the week of May 15 – 20, 2017 at The Boston Conservatory, 8 The Fenway, Boston. Applications will continue to be accepted after the deadline until all audition slots are filled.

The Nova Fellows are the core musicians and orchestra section leaders of Symphony Nova, a professional orchestra in Boston comprised of talented musicians, who have recently graduated from a music College or Conservatory. The fellows perform at least eight concerts per year (four at Old South Church with most concerts repeated at alternate venues) – which include at least one symphonic concert and five chamber concerts. For several of the chamber concerts, Symphony Nova Fellows form committees to determine the artistic content in collaboration with Music Director Lawrence Isaacson. The immersive Fellowship, running October through April, aims to develop musicians’ careers and present concerts at the highest level of artistry.

Annual Stipend: $2,100, consisting of 42 services paid on a per-service basis, all services compensated at $50 per service.

Time Commitment
October 1, 2017 – April 30, 2018; an average of approximately 18 hours per month.
Fellows are expected to perform in all of Symphony Nova’s concerts, but have the flexibility to be excused from playing in a concert cycle with the permission of the Music Director.
